Child Friendly Church Award Child Friendly
Church Award

We are delighted to receive the Child Friendly Church Award, after a thorough review of every aspect of our work with children and young people. It does not mean that everything is perfect. But it does recognize that we are handling it all as carefully and enthusiastically as we can. We are delighted to have this recognition... and we know there's plenty of room for improvement too.

Some of the exciting children's 'Holiday Clubs that we've run during the October half term.

Starring roles in the Christmas Nativity ...complete with tinsel and tea-towels!

Is it a bird? ...well, sort-of, but using rubber gloves, cardboard and loo-roll!'

Children are today's church and tomorrow's leaders.

All our workers are unpaid volunteers and have undergone appropriate Police checks (CRB disclosures).

Junior Church

Junior Church takes place at the same time as morning worship and focuses on developing a dynamic relationship with Jesus. There are several groups, covering creche-age through to early teens.

All the teaching is based on the Bible, helping them understand its message and grasp how it makes a difference in everyday life. Bible stories are backed up by crafts and games related to the day's theme. Children learn the value of generosity by having their own collection for charity (TEAR Fund), and we give them the chance to join in with prayers.

MnMs (Age: Primary School) MnMs Logo

Our Monday evening fun club for primary school children runs at 5.30 every week during school term time, and it's free! Our main aim is to provide a safe place for children to have fun together, play games and crafts, and generally have an enjoyable time. There are no 'entry requirements' for MnMs, but we do have a limit of 40 children (for safety reasons.

Uniformed Organisations

Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Beavers and Cubs all meet on the premises during the week, and join us for Parade Services every other month. These groups are not run by the church, but we support them by providing a meeting place, and there are church members involved in helping run many of the groups as volunteers.

Holiday Clubs (Age: Primary School)

Held during alternate October half-term holidays, this is a week of fantastic fun, great games, songs, drama, craft, challenges ...and hard work for the leaders! With themes such as "Pyramid Rock", "Xpedition Force" and "Light Wave", we give children an exciting, entertaining introduction to Jesus. Whether it's balloon-bursting competitions, floor aerobics, laughing at Gladys the Lighthouse cleaner, or using toilet-roll to make your group leader into a Lazarus look-alike, the children have a fantastic time. And they go home knowing that church can be fun and that they are valued and listened to.
